Play-by-play commentator

Brad Nessler serves as play-by-play commentator, working on ESPN's coverage of Big Ten college football, NCAA basketball and other assignments. Nessler also serves as a play-by-play announcer for most of the Miami Dolphins pre-season telecasts. The former radio voice of the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings had worked two years for CBS Sports before joining ESPN in September 1992.

Nessler served as sports anchor and talk show host for WGST-Radio in Atlanta beginning in 1980. In 1985, he became sports director at WSB-Radio, also in Atlanta. While at WSB, he handled radio play-by-play of the Atlanta Falcons (1982-88) before assuming the same duty for the Minnesota Vikings on WCCO (1988-89). He has done play-by-play of ACC football and basketball since 1988 for Raycom/Jefferson Pilot telecasts and did WLAF games for USA Network (1991-92).

Nessler joined CBS in 1990 and worked on college football and men's and women's basketball, including the NCAA Division I women's championship game, and NFL games. He was that network's host for speed skating coverage at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France.

Nessler was born June 3, 1956 and graduated from Mankato State University in 1977 with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcasting.
