Choking down can help reduce speed and slick greens.
Fall's fast greens
Heat puts enormous stress on cut grass, which is the reason many courses keep their greens well watered and on the long side in summer. But with the return of fall comes the return of super-fast, closely mown putting surfaces. This can prove hazardous both to your stroke and your score after weeks of rolling the ball on shaggier carpets.

Make a mental note
If your golf season is winding down, it's the perfect time to look closely at your game. Identify your problem areas, such as driving accuracy or bunker play, as well as areas in which you've improved during the season. It's a good idea to actually write down your thoughts. The lists you create will channel your offseason work and help you jump-start your game next spring.

Tip for the knee-dy
Chunked. Chili-dipped. Fat. Heavy. Whatever term you use to describe hitting behind the ball, there's no doubt that the majority of poor chip shots are mishit this way. Almost always, the problem can be traced to a faulty address. In other words, before you even start the club moving, poor body positioning significantly decreases the odds of hitting the ball crisply.
