Any musician who has delved into the music business knows that promotion is an integral part of being successful. However, he or she also knows that there is incredible competition and that any angle or strategy that will set him apart from the rest is worthwhile. Even though online music promotion is a relatively recent phenomenon, it is rapidly becoming mainstream and should be an important strategy for any band to consider.
Currently, though, as with any developing trend, online promotion is disorganized and confusing.
Information on promotional features, such as building effective web sites, newsgroups, downloadable music sites, and search engines, is widely dispersed. This makes research both tedious and time consuming.
