Did you join eCircles prior to April 24 and want to know what's changed? This section is for you! Read on to find out everything you wanted to know and more about the new eCircles.

Is everything still in my eCircles?

Yes. Your eCircles are the same as they were before the changes. All of the content is still there, as are the members.

What's the box that pops up every time I login to the new eCircles?

That's your InBox, which tells you what's happened in your eCircles since the last time you logged in. Click on any of the links to check out new stuff and make additions. Your InBox opens in a separate window, which means that you can easily go back and forth between the InBox and your eCircles. When you click on a link in your InBox, the eCircles window behind it will go to the appropriate page. You can go back to your InBox any time by clicking on the 'InBox' button at the top of your screen.

What's different about the menu on the left side of my screen?

Now, each eCircle is customized with only the features you need and want. The menu on the left of your screen (when you're in one of your eCircles) is divided into two parts: (1) at the top is a list of the features that you or someone else in your eCircle have used; and (2) below it are other applications that you can add. You can add a feature to an eCircle at any time by using this list (when you do this, the feature will move to the top part of the list). You can also share something with a different group by clicking the 'Start a New eCircle' button at the top of your screen.

When I click 'Start a New eCircle' I get several options. Why?

Many of our members have told us that sometimes they just want to quickly share some photos with a group of people or have a discussion, but don't want to start a whole eCircle for them. You can now do that. There are four new quick and easy ways to share: photos, discussions, music and event planning. Just choose one, add your content, invite people and you're done! Your friends can see what you've shared directly from their e-mail (they don't need to register with eCircles).

If I start with just one application, like an event or photo album, can I add more later?

Yes! Your eCircles are flexible and expandable. Start with whatever application(s) you need, and add more whenever you want. For example, plan an event with eCircles and after it's over, share some photos of the great time. Or start with a discussion board to figure out where to have your next get-together. Once it's decided, organize the gathering with the event planner. The new eCircles is a one-stop-shop for staying in touch with all of your friends and family members.

How does the new Event Planner work?

Our new Event Planner incorporates the best of the eCircles Calendar with a great, easy way to plan events. You can choose a one-time event (like a party) or a recurring event (like a meeting or anniversary). Give details, ask questions of your guests (like 'What can you bring?' or 'How old do you think Dave is?'), invite friends and you're done. Check back whenever you want and see who's coming. After the event, share photos or start a discussion to re-hash the evening. If you want to plan another event with the same group, just add it to the event calendar. Or, plan something with a different group. It's easy and fun!

What's 'My Calendar'?

'My Calendar' holds all of the events in all of your eCircles calendars. You view it by clicking on the 'My Calendar' link from your 'My eCircles' page.

How can I add an event to my Calendar that nobody else will see?

To use 'My Calendar' for personal events (like appointments, etc.), just start a new eCircle, but don't invite others to join. Use this eCircle for all of your personal events. They will all appear on your 'My Calendar' with all of your other events.

What's 'My Contacts'?

'My Contacts' holds the contact information of everyone in your eCircles. You view it by clicking on the 'My Contacts' link from your 'My eCircles' page. If your friends and family haven't filled out their contact information, encourage them to do so! Now, you'll always have the correct contact information. Update your own contact information by clicking on 'Profile' from the 'My eCircles' page. You can control which information appears in each of your eCircles.

What are the red InBox notices?

These are messages from the eCircles team, to let you know about new features and promotions, or to give you tips on how to make the most out of your eCircles. We hope that you enjoy these notices!

What else is new?

We've tried to incorporate as many member suggestions as possible — both large and small. Check around the site to see all of the improvements including:

  • The ability to upload up to 15 photos at one time
  • Better Activity Summaries — a colorful design with links that take you directly to each item
  • An easy way to find and send Virtual Gifts
  • A fast way to change your character and update your profile
  • The ability to decide whether or not others may invite people to an eCircle that you started
  • A chance to win prizes each time you share something
  • The ability to sort your InBox by eCircle or by date

My question isn't on this list. What should I do?

Check out our 'Frequently Asked Questions' page, which has more general information about eCircles. Or contact us directly by sending an e-mail to support@ecircles.com. We're happy to help!
